Chair
: Kelly Wieczorek, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP BD+C :: Contact

Biography: Kelly Wieczorek was one of the founding Board Members for the Northern Gulf Coast Chapter of the USGBC and currently serves as Chapter Chair.  She is the Director of Sustainable Design at a local architecture firm, and brings with her more than 5 years of experience as a designer.  Past project experience includes K-12 and secondary educational facilities, commercial buildings and governmental facilities at both the state and local level.  Ms. Wieczorek has worked on several LEED projects in the area, and continues to promote environmentally and socially responsible buildings. 

Ms. Wieczorek received both her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Design in Architecture degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville and also studied at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in Vicenza, Italy.  She also serves on the Board of Directors and is the Associate Director for the Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and volunteers for several local organizations. 

 
 
Vice Chair
: James E. (Jay) Wells, III, PE/ LEED AP BD+C :: Contact

Biography: Jay Wells, a graduate of Florida State University, has provided mechanical and controls engineering design for numerous projects throughout the Southeast since 2003. Mr. Wells served as a Systems Integrator and Project Manager for ten years at one of the largest temperature controls and building automation contractors in the region. This experience includes the design and programming of control systems for water treatment plants, banks, hotels/motels, schools and offices.

Mr. Wells has 5 years experience as a mechanical design engineer. His project experience includes both renovation and new construction design for multi-family housing, condominiums, schools, office buildings, laboratories, chiller plants and industrial exhaust systems for both the public and private sector. He recently completed the design of $22 million project currently in construction and seeking LEED Gold Certification in Pensacola, FL.

Mr. Wells is also a member of Ducks Unlimited - the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation.

 
 
Secretary
: Christopher Kariher, AIA/ LEED AP+ :: Contact

Biography: Christopher Kariher, AIA/ LEED AP+, a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, has designed and managed projects for a variety of facility types including commercial office, retail, hospitality, infrastructure and libraries.

Mr. Kariher has been a USGBC Northern Gulf Coast Chapter Board Member since 2009.  In 2009, he also served as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northwest Florida Chapter President.  In this role, Mr. Kariher served as a liaison between the two chapters and was instrumental in obtaining AIA/CES Registered Provider status for the USGBC Northern Gulf Coast Chapter.

Mr. Kariher also served as the Pensacola Canstruction® 2008 and 2009 Chair.  Canstruction® is a trademarked world-wide design/build competition in which structures are built entirely of cans which are donated to local food banks.  In those two years, Pensacola Canstruction® donated 27,857 pounds of food to needy families through MANNA Food Pantries.

 
 
Treasurer
: Ron Nall :: Contact

Biography: Ron Nall, NCQLP LC provides Commercial and Industrial technical support including energy building simulation and lighting design for a local power company. He received both a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction  and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from the University of West Florida. 

Mr. Nall is a long-time member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).  He has served the ASHRAE Northwest Florida Chapter in a variety roles, including as the 2001 and 2002 Chapter President.

Mr. Nall has been involved in the USGBC Northern Gulf Coast Chapter since 2008.
